Activating the Widget

Once you have created a selling plan and assigned products to it, you are ready to install the TryOnify widget on the product page to enable adding Free Trial products to the cart.

We HIGHLY recommend you create a backup theme and test first before enabling the widget on your live theme.

There are two methods of installing the widget and each is only compatible with certain types of Shopify themes. If you don't know what type of Shopify theme you have, don't worry! Try each of the first two methods, and if they don't work, reach out to support@tryonify.com and we'll be happy to help.

Here is an example of what the TryOnify product widget looks like:

Method 1: Theme Block Installation (For Block Based Themes)

For themes that take advantage of Shopify's block based theme system, you will have easy control over where you would like to place the widget on your product page.

Although the block method is quite flexible, we recommend you add the widget just above your add to cart button.

First, in the "Online Store" -> "Themes" section of the Shopify admin, find the theme or backup theme you want to install the widget on and click the green CUSTOMIZE button.

Second, click the template dropdown selector in the middle top of the interface and find the product template you want to install the widget on. Remember, you may have multiple product templates so be sure to install the widget on all the product templates you want to utilize.

Third, scroll to the bottom of the block list on the left and click "Add Block" in the section you would like to add the widget to. The desired section is often called the "Product information" section, but not always.

If you DO NOT have the ability to add a block, then it's likely you are not able to use the Block Based Installation Method and you can scroll down to Installation Method 2 for Legacy Themes.

Fourth, re-order the "Trial Offers" block by dragging it to the desired location.

Fifth, click on the block to customize it or scroll to the bottom and click "Remove block" to remove it.

Be sure to save any changes that you make.

Method 2: App Embed Installation (For Legacy 2.0 Themes)

If your theme uses a legacy "Online Store 2.0" theme, then follow this method.

First, in the "Online Store" -> "Themes" section of the Shopify admin, find the theme or backup theme you want to install the widget on and click the green CUSTOMIZE button.

Second, click on the "App Embeds" icon in the far left menu.

Second, in the list of App Embeds, you will see "Trial Offers" by "TryOnify." Click the toggle to the "On" position and then click "Save."

Third, test your installation by previewing the theme and navigating to one of the products that you have added to a TryOnify Trial Plan. The TryOnify widget should appear near your Add To Cart button.

If you would like to move the widget, expand the app embed toggle and scroll down to the "Button Class" section. Here you can enter a CSS class for the element you would like the TryOnify widget to appear inside.
